Ravens: Not among NFL elite, but close

December 09, 2010

The Patriots' annihilation of the Jets on Monday night revealed the elite teams in the NFL: New England, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and New Orleans. The Ravens are close to that list; 10 plays separate the Ravens from a 12-0 record, just as 10 other plays could have made us 5-7. With Todd Heap, Le'Ron McClain and a healthy Michael Oher, we would have beaten Pittsburgh last Sunday. We need to restart, demonstrate that we are among the elite and get to the Superbowl. Ray Lewis, Derrick Mason and Anquan Boldin have been there and can take us there again. We need to support their leadership as we ponder football in February.
