Loyola basketball team wins third straight, 56-28, against Cristo Rey

Mitch Cross led all scorers with 11 points as host Loyola beat Cristo Rey Jesuit, 56-28, Tuesday.

The Dons (3-0), shot just 9-for-30 from the foul line; the Hornets were 6-for-25.

The Dons have outscored opponents 159-113 during their three-game winning streak to start the season.

Old Mill 84, Howard 62: Eric Savage had a game-high 20 points and Gavin Salmond had 19 to lead the host Patriots (1-0) past the Lions (0-1). Old Mill led by nine after the first quarter.

Carver 64, Du Bois 42: Devin Colston scored 32 points and had seven rebounds as the host Bears (1-1) defeated the Panthers (0-1).

Jeff Bennett scored 16 points and had nine rebounds. BJ Stanley had 10 rebounds and blocked five shots.

Granite Baptist 70, Harford Christian 36: Curtis Few scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Braves (3-0) past the Eagles.

Scott Scheerer contributed 11 points and nine assists to the victory.


No. 3 Joppatowne 60, North East 36: Zameria Jones had 15 points and TroyQuay Malloy added 14 to power the host Mariners (1-0) past the Indians (0-1).

Joppatowne led 49-14 at the half.


Arundel 51, North County 24: The Wildcats won four straight weight classes from 103 to 125 to spark the win. After two wins by forfeit, Arundel took 119 when Logan Reece pinned Josh March in 30 seconds.
