Sunday, Dec. 5

Holiday open house The Ann Arrundell County Historical Society holds its annual Holiday Open House from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Benson-Hammond House, 7101 Aviation Blvd., Linthicum. Information: 410-647-0936.

Toy drive "Adopt an Angel" toy drive takes place through Dec. 15 at Arundel Mills mall in Hanover. Shoppers can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Guest Services Center to benefit the program at Fort Meade which assists military families during the holidays. Holiday by the Bay concert The Naval Academy Band performs its annual concert at 7:30 p.m. at Mahan Hall, and again at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Chesapeake Arts Center. Program includes the traditional Jewish lullaby "Raisins and Almonds," Irving Berlin's "White Christmas," and a singalong with Santa Claus. Free. Mahan Hall is at 106 Maryland Ave. on the grounds of the Naval Academy in Annapolis. Christmas concert The Annapolis Chorale presents its annual Celebration of Christmas concerts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 and 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., Annapolis. Guests include Broadway stars Mark McVey and Christy Tarr-McVey performing holiday and Broadway tunes. 'Fantastique!' Christmas bazaar Annual event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Deale Fire Hall, 6007 Drum Point Road, Deale. Crafters and vendors will offer their wares, and lunch with Santa for the kids will be held at noon. Information: 410-798-0299 or 410-867-2439.

Lunch with Santa The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department welcomes Santa with lights and sirens blazing at 11:30 a.m. at the station, 2380 Davidsonville Road, Gambrills. Kids can have lunch with Santa and Mrs. Clause, get their pictures taken, watch Hugs the Clown make balloon animals, and make crafts. $5 per person includes hot dog, chips, soda and cookie.
