Power rankings roundup: How they rank the Ravens

December 01, 2010|By Baltimore Sun reporter

Here's a look at how the Ravens rank in other media's NFL power rankings.

• ESPN drops the Ravens one slot to No. 4, and moves the Jets up to No. 3. The Ravens have a chance to sweep the rival Steelers for the first time since 2006.

• At CBSSports.com, the Ravens are bumped up to No. 4 from No. 5 after beating Tampa Bay at home.

They made it interesting against Tampa, and now move on to a huge division rematch with the Steelers. The beat them the first time, but that was without Ben Roethlisberger.

• There are no changes from the previous week to the top four rankings at NBC Sports with the Ravens holding down the No. 4 spot.

With James Harrison attacking Joe Flacco from his blind side, Flacco should change his number from 5 to $100,000.

• Fox Sports has the Ravens at No. 4 for the second consecutive week, between the Jets at No. 3 and the Saints at No. 5.

I got some emails earlier week asking why the Ravens aren't getting a lot of notice despite winning four out of their last five games. It's because they aren't flashy. They simply get the job done most of the time.

• USA Today also ranks the Ravens at No. 4, dropping them one spot from the previous week.

• FanHouse.com has the Ravens at No. 6, ahead of the Steelers at No. 7 and behind the Eagles at No. 5.

Baltimore has won four of its last five games but now must make a few tough decisions in the backfield.
