State Police investigating incident as a homicide

December 01, 2010|By Liz F. Kay, The Baltimore Sun

The body of a 41-year-old woman was found Tuesday inside her car on the parking lot of a state park in Calvert County, according to Maryland State Police.

Three hunters discovered Sandra Renee Long of Lusby in Calvert County on the parking lot of the Calvert Cliffs State Park and reported it at about 2:45 p.m.

Long was pronounced dead at the scene, and the cause of death is unknown, police said. Her body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy, and investigators are treating it as a homicide.

Anyone who may have seen Long on Nov. 29 or who may have other information about the case is asked to call the Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police at 410-535-1400.

Earlier versions of this story directed readers to call the wrong barracks with information about this incident. The Sun regrets the error.
