Mike Preston's matchups

Ravens LBs Ray Lewis and Jameel McClain vs Bucs RBs Cadillac Williams and LeGarrett Bount

The Bucs have a downhill running game, and Blount has given new life to the running attack. Tampa Bay can wear teams down with its two-headed attack. The Ravens have struggled for the first time in recent years at stopping the run. Lewis is getting blocked from different angles and McClain has lacked discipline in filling the gaps. The Ravens will have to step it up against the Bucs. Edge: Even.

Ravens RG Tony Moll vs Bucs DT Gerald McCoy

After a slow start, McCoy has played well lately and become one of the keys in Tampa Bay's run defense. Against the 49ers last week, McCoy registered two half sacks. Moll is expected to make his second straight start in place of Chris Chester, who is out with a skin disease. Moll played well last week against the Panthers, and was strong in pass protection. But he'll get more of a challenge this week against McCoy. Edge: McCoy.

Ravens S Ed Reed against Bucs QB Josh Freeman

Freeman has a strong arm, but is young. With inexperience comes mistakes, and Reed is good at baiting quarterbacks. He can lay back and make it look like there's an opening, then quickly close and pick off a pass. The Bucs will try to establish the run early, especially on the road, but if they don't, Freeman will have to pass and Reed will be waiting. Edge: Reed.
