November 26, 2010

Pro football reporter Sam Farmer breaks down the games.

Last week's record: 11-5 Against the spread: 10-6

Season: 89-71 Against the spread: 78-82

Noon Jaguars (6-4) at Giants (6-4)

TV: WBBM-Ch. 2

Line: Giants by 7 Over/under: 44 1/2

Jaguars have won three in row and could present real problems for Giants without injured receiver Hakeem Nicks.

Pick: Jaguars 23, Giants 17

Noon Steelers (7-3) at Bills (2-8)

Line: Steelers by 6 1/2 Over/under: 43.

Steelers are heading into softest part of schedule having put together impressively complete game in thrashing of Raiders.

Pick: Steelers 27, Bills 20

Noon Titans (5-5) at Texans (4-6)

Line: Texans by 6 1/2 Over/under: 45 1/2

Vince Young situation is distraction, and even Texans' soft pass defense can contain Rusty Smith, third Titans QB in three games.

Pick: Texans 35, Titans 28

Noon Vikings (3-7) at Redskins (5-5)

Line: Redskins by 2 Over/under: 43.

With Leslie Frazier at helm, Vikings should get same kind of adrenaline surge Cowboys got with Jason Garrett.

Pick: Vikings 30, Redskins 21

Noon Packers (7-3) at Falcons (8-2)

TV: WFLD-Ch. 32

Line: Falcons by 2 Over/under: 47 1/2

Falcons are very tough at home but too often are settling for field goals in red zone. Packers have allowed league-low 14 touchdowns.

Pick: Packers 30, Falcons 24

Noon Panthers (1-9) at Browns (3-7)

Line: Browns by 10 Over/under: 37 1/2

If Colt McCoy can't go, Jake Delhomme is ready against old team. Panthers don't have offense for shootout.

Pick: Browns 20, Panthers 13

3:05 p.m. Chiefs (6-4) at Seahawks (5-5)

Line: Chiefs by 1 1/2 Over/under: 44 1/2

Even though Chiefs are 1-4 on road, Matt Cassel starting to hit stride — passer rating since Week 6 is gaudy 108.9.

Pick: Chiefs 17, Seahawks 14

3:05 p.m. Dolphins (5-5) at Raiders (5-5)

Line: Off Over/under: Off

Dolphins have won four in row in Oakland, yet these Raiders are different. They are more mature and should rebound strong from Pittsburgh loss.

Pick: Raiders 35, Dolphins 28

3:15 p.m. Eagles (7-3) at Bears (7-3)

TV: WLFD-Ch. 32

Line: Eagles by 3 1/2 Over/under: 42

Eagles have speed on outside to test Bears defense, and then there's stress of trying to stop Michael Vick.

Pick: Eagles 38, Bears 24

3:15 p.m. Buccaneers (7-3) at Ravens (7-3)

Line: Ravens by 7 1/2 Over/under: 41.

This is prove-it game for Bucs, who are 7-0 against teams with losing records and 0-3 against teams better than .500.

Pick: Ravens 20, Bucs 17

3:15 p.m. Rams (4-6) at Broncos (3-7)

Line: Broncos by 4 Over/under: 44 1/2

Rams have yet to win on road. Broncos have lost four of five and will be coming off short week. Rams have more incentive.

Pick: Rams 27, Broncos 20

7:20 p.m. Chargers (5-5) at Colts (6-4)

TV: WMAQ-Ch. 5

Line: Colts by 3 Over/under: 51 1/2

Chargers simply match up well against Colts, plus they are getting pair of Pro Bowl targets back: Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson.

Pick: Chargers 28, Colts 25

7:30 p.m. Monday 49ers (3-7) at Cardinals (3-7)

TV: ESPN

Line: 49ers by 1 Over/under: 40

49ers are reshuffling offensive line after giving up 11 sacks in last two games. That's not a good sign.

Pick: Cardinals 17, 49ers 15
