Cyber Monday travel deals

What's the deal: If you missed Black Friday, there's still time to catch a travel deal on Cyber Monday — online retailers' answer to the brick-and-mortar post-Thanksgiving extravaganza. Many Americans are making at least part of their travel arrangements online, so you might as well click your way to some savings. Here are a few examples I've seen so far:

•Hotels.com is offering up to 50 percent off room rates when you book online and use code 4DAY.

• The Duane Street Hotel in New York's Tribeca neighborhood is offering rooms for $129 per night (rooms typically start around $350 for a superior) when you book Monday between 1:29 p.m. and 1:58 p.m. The offer is good for stays Jan. 1- Feb. 28, with blackout dates around Valentine's Day. Go to duanestreethotel.com.

•The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Fla., will take 30 percent off the best available rate for those who book using booking code DOD. Good for stays through Jan. 8. Rates start at $112 per night. Go to vinoyrenaissanceresort.com.

•Starwood Hotels, including the Westin brand, are offering special rates for stays Jan. 1- April 30. Use rate code CYBERLTO for savings on stays at the Westin Resort Aruba, Westin St. Maarten and Westin New York at Times Square, among others.

•Beginning at midnight tonight, Red Roof is offering a 15 percent discount when you book a room online at redroof.com and use VP code 608270.

What are the savings: Discounts will vary.

What's the catch: These are one-day, online-only offers, so you have to be near a computer.
