Blood donations

The Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Region of the American Red Cross is requesting blood donations. Eligible donors can call 800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule an appointment. Platelet donors should call 800-272-2123.

Volunteers

The Howard County Mental Health Authority's Board Development Committee is seeking civic-minded residents to fill two at-large positions and two family members positions on the Howard County Mental Health Authority Board of Directors. The board ensures the availability of quality mental health services and provides leadership on mental health issues through education, prevention, community and interagency partnerships. Members serve terms of up to four years and meet at least 10 times per year. Applicants should send a letter of interest and resume by Dec. 10 to Howard County Mental Health Authority, Attention: Joe Friend, 9151 Rumsey Road, Suite 150, Columbia 21045 or hcmha@hcmha.org to apply for membership on the board.
