Three things that need to go right vs. Panthers

November 17, 2010|By Jamison Hensley, The Baltimore Sun

1. Pressure the quarterback. Whether it's Tony Pike or Brian St. Pierre, the Ravens need to exploit Carolina's inexperience at this position. The Panthers have given up the third-most sacks in the NFL.

2. Capitalize on turnovers. No team in the league has turned the ball over more than the Panthers. The Ravens have scored seven times off 12 turnovers this season, a rate that needs to be much higher.

3. Run the ball at the Panthers' defense. Carolina has the sixth-worst run defense in the NFL. Three running backs (Matt Forte, Frank Gore and LeGarrette Blount) have gained over 90 yards against the Panthers over the past five games.
