Police: Man shot in foot in city during attempted robbery

November 07, 2010|By Jamie Smith Hopkins, The Baltimore Sun

A 23-year-old man was shot in the foot while running from robbers in Baltimore over the weekend, police said.

The victim said he was walking in the 700 block of W. Ostend Street with two others around 2 a.m. Saturday when three people tried to rob them, according to Detective Jeremy Silbert, a spokesman for the Baltimore Police Department. As the man fled, he was shot in the foot, Silbert said Sunday.

The man later went to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment, and at that point officers were called in.
