A 54-year-old woman died of injuries she received in an early-morning basement fire Sunday in a Dundalk rowhouse. The first fire truck arrived on the scene at 6:31 a.m., said Kyrle Preis, EMS director for the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Firefighters helped two women and a child escape from the second floor. The 54-year-old woman was found in the basement. She was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where she later died.

The females were ages 13, 24 and 34, Price said. They were not all related.

The fire was confined to the basement and was extinguished quickly, Preis said.
