Balto. Co. seeks public input on homeless plan

Six-day planning effort to address growing problem starts Wednesday

Baltimore County officials are asking for public participation in a six-day planning effort to address homelessness. Government leaders, joined by the clergy, businesses and nonprofit organizations, will be working to find solutions to what is a growing problem throughout the county. The opening session runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, at 120 Allegheny Avenue, Towson.

Consultants on health, housing, employment and transportation will lead panel discussions throughout the day Thursday and Friday at the Towson Library, at 320 York Road.

After those discussions, participants will meet with a team of experts to offer their views on the issue at 6 p.m. Friday at the library and 4 p.m. Sunday at the Towson Chamber of Commerce, 44 W. Chesapeake Ave. Based on input gathered at those sessions, organizers expect to draft recommendations on how the county can respond to homelessness.

The final presentation will begin at noon Monday at Central Presbyterian Church at, 7308 York Road, Towson.
