Bank employee lied to get mortgages

Faces maximum of 20 years in prison

A 31-year-old Glenn Dale woman pleaded guilty Monday to falsifying documents to obtain three home mortgages worth $1.2 million, the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office said.

According to Lynzi Malissa Richardson's plea agreement, she and two others submitted mortgage applications for three Washington D.C. properties, using documents that inflated the would-be borrowers' incomes.

Richardson worked at a bank, and generated some of the phony documents there, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. She faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Sentencing is scheduled for January.
