SUV strikes, seriously injures pedestrian in N.W. Baltimore

A pedestrian was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when she was struck by a sport-utility vehicle in Northwest Baltimore, a police spokesman said.

A Chevrolet Trailblazer headed northbound in the 4300 block of Liberty Heights Ave. near Eldorado Avenue struck a 55-year-old woman about 3:15 p.m., said the spokesman, Detective Kevin Brown. The SUV had a green light, he said.

The woman was crossing Liberty Heights, Brown said. She was taken to a local hospital with head injuries; no information about her condition was available.

No charges have been filed against the driver because the accident appears to be the result of pedestrian error, Brown said.
