100 Light Street tower gets another new tenant

Consulting firm Bolton Partners Inc. plans to move its Baltimore headquarters and 45 employees in December to 100 Light Street, the downtown office tower that housed money manager Legg Mason until last year.

Bolton Partners will sublease one floor, or nearly 15,000 square feet, from RBC Capital Markets Corp., said Courtenay Jenkins, a leasing agent with the Baltimore office of Cushman & Wakefield who represented the tenant. Bolton Partners, which also has offices in Washington D.C. and Boca Raton, Fla., has actuarial, health and welfare and investment consulting divisions.

Last week, Transamerica Life Insurance Co., an arm of Dutch insurer Aegon, announced plans to move to the top nine floors, or about 140,00 square feet, of the 35-story Light Street building and relocate more than 700 workers now at two buildings in midtown Baltimore. The tower, which Legg Mason left last year to move to Harbor East, will be renamed the Transamerica Tower. The building is now more than 70 percent leased, Jenkins said.
