Media roundup: What they're saying about the Ravens

September 23, 2010|By Baltimore Sun reporter

Here's a look at what other media are saying about the Ravens

• Sara Foss of the Daily Gazette of Schenectady, N.Y., previews the Ravens-Browns matchup Sunday.

Wait, maybe this is the mismatch of the week. Will the Browns even survive their meeting with Ray Lewis and Co.? I wouldn't bet on it.

• James Walker of ESPN.com's AFC North blog has a ranking of coaches in the division. Ravens coach John Harbaugh finishes second.

Harbaugh was doing great in the approval ratings after their Week 1 win over the New York Jets. But last week's loss to the reigning AFC North champion Bengals produced a knee-jerk reaction among Ravens fans that dropped his rating into the 60s.

• The Ravens dropped from No. 3 to No. 8 in ESPN's power rankings.

Averaging 10 points per game just isn't going to cut it.

• Matthew J. Darnell of the Yahoo! sports blog "Shutdown Corner" writes that the Ravens have dropped out of his playoff picture.

I know, Ravens fans. You're mad. Not only did you drop from the second seed to out of the playoffs completely, but the team taking your place is the Steelers. Your purple Zubaz must be in quite the bunch right now. I understand. It's justified.
