Two Columbia youths and four others were arrested by Howard County police in a recent carjacking and several street robberies.

Darius Guy Wimbley, 20, of the 5600 block Brook Way in Hannibal Grove and Jovan Jimell Wood, 16, of the 5700 block Alderleaf Place in Long Reach, were arrested Sept. 11 and charged with a carjacking, assault and robbery of a pizza delivery person in a 4:40 a.m. incident Sept. 7 in the 10500 block of Cross Fox Lane, police said. Both are being held at the county detention center on $250,000 bail. Wood is charged as an adult.

Police found the stolen 2010 Toyota Camry parked on Beaverkill Road and found evidence inside that led to the arrests. Wimbley was also charged with robbery in a 2 a.m. strong-arm theft from two people sitting on a dock Aug. 10 at Lake Kittamaqundi.

In the other incident, youths ages 15, 16 and 17 from Baltimore, along with Keith Quinton Cornish, 21, of no fixed address, were arrested after a Sept. 12 robbery on a path near Snowden River Parkway. The four are accused of stealing a cell phone and cash after abducting and beating a man who was walking at 6:55 p.m. The four were found nearby after a witness gave a description and the 15-year-old had the victim's cell phone in his pocket.

Charged as adults are David Edward Robinson, 17, of the 2800 block Westwood Road, and David Hulk Battle, 16, of the 8500 block Old Court Road. The 15-year-old is charged as a juvenile.
