Adult man shot several times in torso

City police are investigating Tuesday evening shooting at N. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue, police said.

Officers from the Central District were called to the intersection shortly after 5:30 p.m. where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, police said. He was taken to an area hospital and is listed in what police describe as serious but stable condition.

Central District detectives are investigating the shooting.
