Meghan Macera

Westminster, field hockey

The junior forward enjoyed a stellar performance at the Sally E. Nyborg Invitational at Roland Park on Saturday, combining to score six goals and one assist to lead Westminster (4-0) to wins over the host Reds and defending Class 2A state champion Fallston. Macera, a three-year starter, scored three goals in the Owls' 4-0 win over Roland Park and then followed that with a three-goal, one assist effort against Fallston. In the team's first four games, she has scored eight goals and four assists — notching at least one goal in every game so far. Last season, Macera, who also plays lacrosse, scored 16 goals and added nine assists to help the Owls reach the Class 4A state championship game.

Others considered: Nicki Baer, Century, soccer; Taylor Cummings, McDonogh, soccer; Stacey Mackintosh, South River, field hockey.
