Howard County police have identified the couple who appeared to have died from gunshot wounds in an Ellicott City house Saturday night.

Clare Lenore Stoudt, 35, and Reginald Van Graves, 49, were found dead inside the home at 3700 block of Bonnybridge Place on Sunday evening, police said. Autopsies are to be conducted to confirm the cause of death.

Investigators are analyzing a gun found at the scene for evidence, police said. Authorities said the preliminary investigation has found no evidence of forced entry and they were looking into the possibility that the shooting might have been a domestic assault.

A neighbor called 911 around 6 p.m. Saturday to report that a child had discovered what appeared to be two injured people in a nearby residence, police said. Paramedics called to the scene found Stoudt and Van Graves dead after apparently suffering traumatic injuries, police said.

Stoudt and Van Graves were not married, but are believed to have lived together and had children together, police said. Three children who lived in the house were placed with a relative. Crisis counselors and detectives are assisting the children, ages 7, 5 and 2, police said.
