A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident involving a Mercedes-Benz in Baltimore on Saturday night, police said. Authorities continue to search for the driver of the car.
Gerard Grant, of Baltimore, was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center late Saturday, according to Det. Jeremy Silbert, of the Baltimore Police Department.
Patrol officers are looking for a late-model black Mercedes sedan with damage on the driver's side including a missing sideview mirror.
The crash occurred at about 7 p.m. Saturday as the motorcycle and the car were traveling north in the 5200 block of Erdman Ave. Grant was ejected by the force of the crash, police said.
Silbert said a preliminary investigation showed that the sedan struck the motorcycle and then fled. Police are asking anyone with information about such a vehicle or its driver to contact the accident investigation unit at 410-396-2609.
