2-year-old dies after being rescued from Pasadena pool

Boy went into cardiac arrest, taken to hospital

An Anne Arundel County police spokesman said a 2-year-old boy died after he was rescued from a Pasadena swimming pool Saturday.

The child was swimming at a residence's private pool at about 8:30 a.m. in 7900 block of Tick Neck Road, said Lt. Keith Hamilton, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

A family member rescued the child and attempted CPR, Hamilton said, but the boy went into cardiac arrest and was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Lt. James Fredericks with the Police Department said the child later died at the hospital.
