Two men were treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening after they were shot in separate incidents in Glen Burnie, according to an Anne Arundel County police spokesman.
On Monday, officers went to the 7900 block of Nolpark Court in Glen Burnie for a report of a shooting, police said. They found a 44-year-old man on the ground in front of a building in that block, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said the man was approached in the parking lot at about 11:50 p.m. by several men who demanded money. He was shot and his money was taken. The victim was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment.
Hours later, a 17-year-old man was shot in the 6400 block of Polk Circle in Glen Burnie. An officer discovered the injured man during a traffic stop of a vehicle at Crain Highway and Thelma Avenue at about 2:17 a.m.
The victim told police that he was sitting on a bench in a park with another man when he was approached from behind by three people. They demanded money from the 17-year-old, who was shot when he tried to run away, police said. The victim went first to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and later to Shock Trauma for treatment.
