Event includes more than 20,000 books for sale. There will also be a large assortment of DVDs, videos, CDs, tapes and records. Children's books and paperback books will be priced at 50 cents and hardbacks will sell for $1. 'Pooches' Pool Party' A swim/splash party for dogs and their human buddies will be held Sept 11 at the Roger Carter Recreation Center, 3676 Fel's Lane in Ellicott City. Session one takes place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; session two will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per pooch. No fee for people, no more than two people per dog, handlers must be 18 or older, no one younger than 12 admitted, no more than one dog per handler. Dogs must be nonaggressive and peer-friendly.
