Ehrlich's desperation moves

August 27, 2010

Reading the many articles about the promises that Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. has been making this summer has been entertaining – at least at first.

But almost on a daily basis now and showing more obvious signs of desperation, Mr. Ehrlich has been promising to spend hundreds of millions of dollars of hardworking Marylanders' money on whatever constituency he happens to be targeting and claiming he is a part of on a given day – clearly an attempt to garner votes. All the while he's making these promises he claims he'll limit spending everywhere else except in the arena of whose audience he has at the time ("Ehrlich pledges no new taxes if he is returned to Annapolis," Aug. 26).

It's gone from entertaining to abhorrent.
