Annual celebration

St. Paul's Lutheran Church holds its annual "Bless the Years Celebration" on Sept. 25 and 26 at the church, 308 Oak Manor Drive in Glen Burnie. The event is to help people recognize and celebrate each year that's added to their lives as a gift from God and to respond with renewed commitment and service. Activities include a luncheon for those 55 and older at noon Sept. 25. Michael Walter, along with "A Poor Man's Band," provides the musical entertainment. At the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship service Sept. 26, all senior members and guests 55 and older will be recognized and a special tribute will be given to those 80 and older. The Rev. George Black is the preacher. An $8 reservation for the luncheon is required. Information: 410-766-2283.

Grace Baptist Church events

A pancake supper followed by a showing of the movie, "Pilgrim's Progress," takes place beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at the church, 17 Somerset Road in Pasadena. At 1 p.m. Sept. 11, a jamboree will be held with food, games and entertainment. The event also features a chili cook-off, dessert competition and a talent show. Admission is free to both events. Bible class

A monthly Bible class using clips from movies for a discussion, "The Jesus I Never Knew," will be held at noon the first Wednesday of the month for the next several months at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena. The class will look at excerpts from movies, including "Gospel Road," "King of Kings" and "The Gospel According to Matthew." Viewpoints portrayed will be compared with what the Bible teaches about Jesus. Free. Information: 410-255-8236 or galileelutheranchurch.org.
