A 57-year-old man who was found beaten earlier this week has died as a result of his injuries, police said.

Albert Bethea was found about 3:45 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of E. Eager St. in East Baltimore, suffering from injuries to the face and head consistent with being kicked or stomped, said police spokeswoman Nicole Monroe.

Bethea was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died on Tuesday. Monroe said a witness saw a man standing over Bethea, but a motive has not been established.
