Ecology by canoe From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., participants can discover the abundance of wildlife in the Patuxent River wetlands by paddling along some of the smaller branches of the river to look for beavers, birds and flowering wetland plants at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. Bring water, sunscreen and lunch, and wear shoes that can get wet. Children must be at least 7 years old and accompanied by an adult. Cost is $10 per person. Auditions Kids ages 8-18 can audition for "Say What? Play Words and Word Plays," a collection of one-act plays, poems and scenes that celebrate language, theater and humor. Annapalooza Outdoor music and arts festival being held from noon to 10 p.m. at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds, 1450 Generals Highway in Crownsville, features 10 hours of live music, including jazz, reggae, blues, rock, hip-hop and bluegrass, on three stages. Lineup includes Soja, the Bridge, Pietasters, Bill Kirchen, Mambo Sauce, Grilled Lincolns, the Cheaters and Blue Miracle. There will also be artists, crafters, food and beverages. Rally A number of community organizations, including labor, clergy, peace and civil rights, will hold a noon rally at the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial at Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway in Arnold, to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington, which was led by King and the occasion on which he delivered his legendary "I Have a Dream" speech.
