Maryland men's basketball coach Gary Williams will be inducted into the Hall of Legends next month.

Williams' induction ceremony into the Hall of Legends -- a Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards creation -- is scheduled for Sept. 30 at the Hippodrome. Babe Ruth, Johnny Unitas, Art Modell, Jim McKay and Brooks Robinson are previous inductees into the Hall of Legends.

"The Hall of Legends will be reserved for those individuals who have contributed above and beyond at the top echelon of state and national athletics," said Mike Gibbons, executive director of the Museum.

The ceremony for Williams will feature tributes to the Maryland coach from former players, Hall of Fame coaches and others. Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, Villanova coach Jay Wright and former Maryland standouts Len Elmore, Tom McMillen, Johnny Rhodes and Walt Williams are all scheduled to attend.

The Hall of Legends induction ceremony will benefit the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards, Coaches vs. Cancer, and the Maryland men's and women's basketball weight room project, per Williams' request.

Individual tickets for the event go on sale Aug. 19. Call 410-547-7328 or go to ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets. Contact the Museum at 410-727-1539 ext. 3033 for more information.
