Three killed in separate Baltimore incidents overnight

No motives or suspects reported

Baltimore police are investigating three separate killings Saturday, including two shootings and a stabbing. Police also reported a nonfatal shooting and a nonfatal cutting overnight.

Homicide investigators responded at 10:25 p.m. Friday to 2800 Clifton Park Terrace and found 20-year-old Jerrod Lee Covel suffering from a shotgun wound to the chest. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead around 11 p.m.

At about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a location on Shipley Street to investigate a reported shooting. Officers found Martin York, 45, with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. York was brought to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and pronounced dead at about 1:15 a.m.

Police said they had no suspects, nor did they know of a motive for either shooting.

Police arrived at the 700 block of Lennox Street at about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday and found an unidentified man, 24, suffering from a stab wound. Few details were available, but police reported the incident as a homicide.

Detectives were called to the scene of a nonfatal shooting on the 2100 block of Homewood Avenue around 10:45 p.m, and found an unidentified young man, 17, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was transported to an undisclosed hospital. Police provided no information about his condition.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of Bentalou street at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, and found an unidentified victim of a cutting. He was transported to an undisclosed hospital, where police said he is listed in critical but stable condition.
