Free 'Star Wars' screenings at Senator for Kiefaber's last day

July 20, 2010|By Baltimore Sun staff

Free screenings of a collector's print of "Star Wars: A New Hope" at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday will honor Tom Kiefaber's final day as operator of the Senator Theatre. Doors open at 4 p.m.

The general public is welcome to these showings of a rare 1977 British I.B. Technicolor print of the film.

Kiefaber said in a news release, "This is where I came in. I grew up in the Senator and I officially joined the family business in 1977, just as 'Star Wars' was about to change the film industry forever."
