Crownsville burglar returns to apologize, gets arrested

Homeowner recognized one man burglarizing her house Thursday

An accused Crownsville burglar returned to the scene of the crime Thursday to apologize to his victim and was arrested, Anne Arundel County police said Friday.

Officers responded to a call for a burglary in progress in the 500 block of Saw Mill Lane in Crownsville around 3 p.m. The homeowner told police that as she was arriving home, she saw two men leaving with items from the house, but once they saw her, they dropped many of the items and ran away, police said. The homeowner told police that she recognized one of the burglars as Philip Fox, 20, but said she did not know the other burglar.

According to police, Fox went back to the home to return an item that was taken and apologize to the homeowner. He was then arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and theft.

Police are still trying to identify the second the burglar. Police described him as an 18- or 19-year-old white male named Louis who was wearing a white tank top and plaid shorts.
