Nominees sought for Volunteer of the Year

Nomination forms are available for the 2010 "Volunteer of the Year" Award program sponsored by the Howard County Government and the Volunteer Center Serving Howard County. The program aims to honor individuals of all ages, groups and businesses whose dedication and commitment to the community go above and beyond the call of duty.

In order to qualify, nominees must volunteer in Howard County and their efforts should have a noteworthy impact on an individual or the community. For individual nominations, nominees' service must have been beyond the scope of their paid employment.

Residents have until Aug. 27 to fill out a nomination form, available at howardcountymd.gov. Click on the "Volunteer of the Year Nomination" form link.

Completed forms can also be mailed to: Howard County Government, Office of Public Information, 3430 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City 21043, or faxed to 410-313-3299.
