An unidentified 25-year-old man was in grave condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being found with a gunshot wound in the chest early Saturday, according to police.

Baltimore Police spokesman Donny Moses said officers responded to a call about 2 a.m. for an injured person at 200 North Rose St. in southeast Baltimore. They found the man unresponsive, with either a knife or a gunshot wound to the chest.

The wound was later determined to have been caused by a single gunshot to the chest, Moses said. The man was transported to Hopkins and was in grave condition early Saturday afternoon, according to Moses.

Police have no witnesses or suspects and know of no motive for the shooting, Moses said.
