The Harford County Sheriff's Office has charged a homeless man with murder in the death of a 71-year-old Edgewood resident.

Quintin Everett Demby, 46, was arrested Tuesday at a store in Edgewood and was being held at the Harford County Detention Center without bail. He faces first-degree murder and assault charges in the killing of 71-year-old Joseph Carpintieri, who was found dead May 2 at his home in the 1400 block of St. Mary's Court.

Carpintieri died of multiple traumatic injuries, complicated by cardiovascular disease, police said.
