"Sex and the City" was the theme for a party at Tapas Adela, which suited guest Lexie Bubb just fine. The 26-year-old Fells Point painter loves to combine interesting pieces for her outfits — just like her favorite "Sex and the City" character, Carrie Bradshaw. "My style is definitely eclectic ... I really love colors and textures. ... I'm not afraid to wear what makes me happy, even if it's ridiculous."
The look: Blush short-sleeve cardigan with rhinestone buttons and frayed edge silk roses. Orange ruched cotton-knit BB Dakota skirt. Nude satin Me Too peep-toe pumps. Blush satin handbag. Cubic zirconia stud earrings. Pear-shaped cubic zirconia ring.
Where it came from: She found the cardigan at Ann Taylor Loft and the skirt at Marshall's. The pumps were DSW Shoe Warehouse finds. She's had the handbag since her high school prom. She got her earrings at Loehmann's, and the ring was her grandmother's.
Her shopping habits: "I shop a lot, maybe once a week. ... I always go to Loehmann's. I also go to H&M, Nordstrom, Anthropologie and J. Crew. I really like to window-shop. So I'll go back a couple of times before I actually buy."
Art inspires her look: "My paintings are all about colors and textures and light and contrast. So I really take care when I dress myself that those things are all included. ... For instance, my favorite winter coat is saffron yellow, and it's very blaring. But it makes me happy, especially during the wintertime. ... [Texture-wise] I love little details like the chiffon or silk flowers on this sweater."
Her fashion phases: "For a while, I liked the one-piece suits — the jumpers and the rompers. I'm phasing that out, and I'm going for more of a color or a standout piece. Right now, I'm obsessed with neon pink. ... I have this neon pink tank top that I pair with a nude or white bottom."
Fashion icons: "I really like Rachel Bilson and Margherita Missoni — people who are not afraid to take chances when it comes to fashion."
