Robert Morris names Matt Hahn assistant basketball coach
Former University of Maryland basketball player Matt Hahn (Atholton) was named Wednesday as an assistant coach with the men's team at Robert Morris. Hahn spent the past five seasons at Vermont under Mike Lonergan, who was an assistant under Gary Williams with the Terps. Hahn is the son of Billy Hahn, a former Maryland player and assistant. Men's college lacrosse: Johns Hopkins midfielder Michael Kimmel was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America first team. Maryland defenseman Brian Farrell made the second team, and Maryland attackman Grant Catalino and defenseman Brett Schmidt were on the third team. … Salisbury sophomore midfielder Sam Bradman was named a first-team Division III All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Four of his teammates made second team: senior midfielder Mike Von Kamecke, senior midfielder Connor Burgasser, junior goalkeeper Johnny Rodriguez (Mount St.Joseph) and junior defender Collin Tokosch (Broadneck).
Women's college lacrosse: North Carolina junior defender Meredith Newton (Severna Park) won the inaugural NCAA Elite 88 award for women's lacrosse. Newton has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.893 as a double major in biology and psychology, the highest GPA of any player on any of the four semifinal squads for 2010. … The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association named Salisbury senior attack Kim Cudmore (Bel Air) and senior defender Sarah McKinley (Dulaney) to the Division III All-America first team. Senior midfielder Beth Rhodey (Notre Dame Prep) was named to the second team.
