Family fun days

Visitors can explore the grounds of Montpelier Mansion, play games, do a craft, dress in old-fashioned clothes and take tours from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 27, July 18 and Aug. 1 at 9650 Muirkirk Road in Laurel. Admission is free. Canned foods for donation to local food banks will be accepted. Information: 301-377-7817.

Concert series

The Montpelier Summer Concert Series begins June 25 with the Oracle Band playing oldies, Top 40 and classic rock. Free two-hour concerts take place at 7:30 p.m. Fridays on the Montpelier Mansion grounds, 9652 Muirkirk Road in Laurel. Free public and handicapped parking is available at the Montpelier Drive and Muirkirk Road entrances off Route 197. Information: 301-776-2805.

Family support meeting

Group provides support and education to families and friends of adults with a mental illness. Meeting takes place at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 10755 Scaggsville Road, Laurel. Information: 410-772-9300.

Instructors needed

The South Laurel Recreation Council needs certified instructors to teach pilates, Zumba and tennis during spring and/or summer classes in the Laurel area. Information: 301-776-2805.

Savage Library fun

A "Picture Book Parade!" for ages 2-5 with an adult will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Savage branch of the Howard County Library. The program includes a craft. Pajama Time, when children may wear pajamas and bring teddy bears and blankets, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays. The branch is at 9525 Durness Lane in Laurel. Information: 410-880-5980.
