Traffic delays likely on Sunday in West Timonium, Lutherville

Maryland Half-Marathon to begin at 7 a.m.

Baltimore County police are warning of possible traffic delays in West Timonium and Lutherville on Sunday because of the Maryland Half-Marathon.

Runners will be participating in the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center race starting at 7 a.m., west of Timonium Road, until 11 a.m.

Police expect some brief delays and advise drivers to take alternate routes in the West Timonium and West Lutherville area, and to use caution when traveling through the area. Police will be posted at major intersections.

The race will begin at the Maryland State Fairgrounds' West Timonium Road gate and runners will follow the course below:

•Left (East) onto West Timonium Road to West Aylesbury Road

•Right (South) onto West Aylesbury Road to the access road of the Old Navy store on West Ridgely Road

•Left (East) onto West Ridgely Road to Francke Avenue

•Right (South) onto Francke Avenue to West Seminary Avenue

•Right (West) onto West Seminary Avenue to Thornton Road

•Right (North) onto Thornton road to West Timonium Road

•Right (East) onto West Timonium Road to Hunter Ridge Road

•Right (South) through the loop on Hunter Ridge Road to Valleyfield Road

•Left (South) onto Valleyfield Road to West Seminary Avenue

•Right (West) on West Seminary Avenue to Wellington Valley/Valleyfield area, where there will be a relay pass off and then back onto West Seminary Avenue

•West again on West Seminary Avenue to Mays Chapel Road

•Right (North) onto Mays Chapel Road to Jenifer Road

•Left (North) onto Jenifer Road to West Padonia Road

•Right (East) onto West Padonia Road to Deereco Road

•Right (South) onto Deereco Road to West Timonium Road

•Left (East) onto West Timonium Road to the Maryland State Fairgrounds gate.
