AACC commencement: Ceremonies, with keynote speech by Frank Chong, deputy assistant secretary for community colleges, takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Siegert Field on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Event will be simulcast on Comcast and Millennium channels 95 and Verizon FIOS channel 35 in Anne Arundel County. A reception will be held in the Student Union Dining Hall after the ceremony. Summer registration

Registration is under way for summer classes offered by Anne Arundel Community College at the seven senior activity centers operated by the county Department of Aging and Disabilities. AACC Consortium

Anne Arundel Community College and Frostburg State University recently signed a partnership agreement making Frostburg a new member of the AACC University Consortium of four-year partners, which was created to expand county residents' access to higher education. Information: 410-777-2433.

Scholarships at AACC

•The local chapter of the International Food Service Executives Association has donated $8,700 to its IFSEA Endowed Scholarship Fund for AACC students interested in the culinary arts and hospitality industries. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time degree- or certificate-seeking AACC student, based on financial need, and requires a 2.0 GPA. Information: 410-777-2515 or aacc.edu/foundation.

•The IKO Foundation Inc. has donated $100,000 to scholarship funds at Anne Arundel Community College and contributed to a student emergency fund. Information: 410-777-2515, http://www.aacc.edu/foundation or http://www.aacc.edu/aid/scholarships.

Jerry and Nancy Nicklow of Pasadena have donated $10,000 to establish two endowed scholarships to benefit county residents. Information: 410-777-2515.
