Four members of a Howard County family were injured, one critically, when the car in which they were traveling Tuesday was struck by another vehicle in Cooksville.

Stacie Lucero, 50, was turning left from Monticello Drive onto Route 97 shortly before 9 a.m. when her Honda Civic was struck by a Jeep Liberty. She was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was in critical condition.

Her passengers, John Lucero, 43, and children aged five and three, were taken to the Johns Hopkins Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Jeep, Bret Hamrick, 48, of Hampstead, was not injured, police said. Police are investigating the crash.
