Towson resident identified as pedestrian killed in N. Howard St. hit-and-run

Baltimore police have identified a pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run collision on N. Howard Street early Thursday morning, a police spokeswoman said.

The victim is Julio Torres Gonzalez II, 39, of the 7900 block of Springway Road in Towson, said the spokeswoman, Officer Nicole Monroe.

Gonzalez was killed while walking in the crosswalk across the 1200 block of N. Howard Street at 1:54 a.m., according to police. He was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:37 a.m.
