Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver arrived at Pimlico Race Course this afternoon and was made the 5-2 favorite for Saturday's 135th Preakness Stakes.

Super Saver will start from the 8th post position in the 12-horse field -- two short of the maximum -- in his bid to win the second leg of the Triple Crown.

"I don't think the post position matters in this race," Super Saver trainer Todd Pletcher said today.

Lookin At Lucky, sixth in the Derby but a pre-race favorite, was the 3-1 second choice and Paddy O'Prado, third in the Derby, was the 9-2 third choice. Lookin At Lucky drew the seventh post and Paddy O'Prado the 10th.

A flight carrying Super Saver, Caracortado, Lookin At Lucky, Paddy O'Prado, First Dude, Jackson Bend, Aikenite, Pleasant Prince and Yawanna Twist landed at BWI at 2 p.m. today and the horses were placed into vans for the ride to Pimlico.

Pletcher, who also brought Aikenite, said the horses handled the trip well.

"It was one of those trips that went perfectly. Everything loaded on time and the flight was on time and the horses seemed like they both shipped well," he said. "(Super Saver's) enthusiasm is good, and his energy is good. So far, that phase of it went well."

Lookin At Lucky, who finished sixth in the Derby, also looked good, said trainer Bob Baffert, who is looking for his fifth Preakness win.

"He looks good. He's happy," Baffert said. "I wish I felt that good."

The post positions and odds:

1. Aikenite, 20-1
2. Schoolyard Dreams, 15-1
3. Pleasant Prince, 20-1
4. Northern Giant, 30-1
5. Yawanna Twist, 30-1
