How it happened: Orioles starter Brian Matusz had his first rough outing of the season, allowing six earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings. Minnesota scored three times in the third inning off Matusz and added another three runs in the fourth.

That would be plenty for the Twins as the Orioles were shut down by starting pitcher Nick Blackburn. The offense managed just four hits against the right-hander, and a total of six for the game. It was the third time this season the Orioles have been blanked.

He said it: "We need to score more runs, and I don't know if it's on any one guy, and I don't know that any one guy is going to be such a factor that he's going to rectify it. I think it's a collective thing, more than two or three guys on a nightly or daily basis." -- Dave Trembley, Orioles manager

You said it: "I would demote Adam Jones so he can work on getting his head straight, and promote Corey Patterson so maybe he can give our team some speed as a lead-off hitter. Patterson's not a long-term answer, but he might provide a momentary spark, and I think Jones is all messed up right now, hopefully not for good. A visit to AAA might allow him to get his confidence back." -- Orsulak fan, commenting on Orioles Insider.
