How it happened: Matt Wieters hit an opposite-field, solo home run to put the Orioles ahead 1-0 in the second inning at new Yankee Stadium, but it wouldn't hold up.

In the fourth inning, Nick Swisher singled off Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie to drive in Alex Rodriguez to tie the score for New York. Two batters later, Randy Winn hit a three-run shot, his first home run in more than a year, to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead and all the scoring they would need.

He said it: "You have to keep the ball in the ballpark from the No. 9 hitter. We didn't do that. You have to get some runs on the board, and we didn't get enough." -- Dave Trembley, Orioles manager

You said it: "after watching [Kevin Millwood] yesterday, it's pretty obvious guthrie has picked up nothing. if you cannot get out the bottom of the lineup, you cannot pitch in the major leagues. He's a tease. Let him be someone else's tease. I can't believe he gave up a home run to Winn. I cannot believe it." -- jim66, commenting on Orioles Insider
