Alonso fails to protect vulnerable students

Baltimore City Schools CEO Andrés Alonso vows to protect the safety of children under his watch, but something is wrong with this picture ("Alonso wouldn't suspend bullies," May 4). How is it possible to protect the oppressors at the expense of the oppressed? Philosophies aside, all children ought to be protected from harm or the appearance of harm, and anything less casts a shadow on his administration.
