Stabbing in Riverside may have been drug-related, police say

April 26, 2010

City police say the stabbing of a 21-year-old Queen Anne's County man on Friday night in South Baltimore's Riverside community appears drug-related.

Police were called to the 1900 block of Light St. at about 10 p.m. and found a man suffering from stab wounds to the chest and back, said Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman.

The victim, who is from Stevensville, said he was in his girlfriend's vehicle when two to three men punched and stabbed him and stole personal items. But when police interviewed his girlfriend, she said she had been at her job at a strip club on the Block since 6 p.m.

The man was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition, and the investigation was continuing.
