Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a police-involved shooting in Glen Bernie Thursday night.

A male police officer shot an adult male victim at Elvaton Road and Starwood Court in Glen Bernie about 10:20 p.m., said Lt. James Fredericks, spokesman with county police.

He said it is unclear what caused the officer to shoot. The officer was not responding to a call, Fredericks said, but he must have "rolled up on something."

The victim was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, but Fredericks could not comment on the extent of his injuries. He said the officer was not injured.
