The sophomore midfielder played several key roles last week as the No. 1 Eagles beat three Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference opponents, including No. 4 Notre Dame Prep. Cummings scored three goals in the 12-11 win over NDP, including two critical ones at the end of the first half to boost the Eagles' lead to 7-4. In an 8-6 win over No. 7 John Carroll, Cummings scored the game-winner on an eight-meter shot, caused several key turnovers and helped the Eagles win seven of nine draws in the second half. Against St. Paul's, her takeaway with 10 minutes left sparked a five-goal Eagles run to seal a 17-10 win. For the week, she had six goals and three assists, but her work on defense and on the draw control were more important. Cummings, a veteran of the M&D Lax club, has 21 goals and eight assists this season.
